Off we go...

I am going to run a marathon!

When I look at that sentence words like, "impossible" and "laughable" come to mind. However, I'm determined. Kathleen (my roommate) ran in the Chicago marathon last weekend and when she came home she flat out asked me, "do you want to run a marathon?" And so, we begin...

We are following Hal Higdin's 18 week training schedule. This past week we ran 3 miles, 5 miles, 3 again, then 8 miles on saturday. I was really NERVOUS to even attempt the 8 miles, but it was surprisingly easy. It's all about the playlist...
Speaking of playlists... if you would like to support Kathleen and I in our training endeavors, you could send us running songs! Running for 5 hours straight might get a little boring, but exciting songs are the key to victory.

We are running in the Palm Beach half-marathon (13.1 miles) on December 7th, and then the Sarasota Marathon on February 15th (26.2 miles) (eeeeep)!!!

I have a feeling this is going to be a ridiculously challenging journey. Thanks for reading and stay tuned!

I am very excited about the marathon. You should post pictures as well. I want to see the grueling route you are up against.
As far as music...
Here is some of the stuff that I am really into nowadays...

A Day to Remember-Fast paced rock. Sort of punk, sort of pop, with a dash of hardcore. It would keep me moving.

Brand New-Some of the best music I have ever heard. It can be kind of slow paced sometimes, but still, find the good ones and use those.

Say Anything-Very original sounding and interesting lyrics. Also, very catchy. They are a mellow type of rock with pop elements.

Scary Kids Scaring Kids- Some of their stuff is extremely upbeat and very catchy. Nice and poppy as well as some rock. The song "My Darkest Hour" comes to mind.

Red Jumpsuit Apparatus-Some good music I would like to run to. Pop/rock, upbeat and catchy.

Red Hot Chili Peppers-I love them, and running to them would be amazing. Their later stuff mainly: Stadium Arcadium, and By the Way.

N.E.R.D.- Has a couple of good songs. Upbeat and something I would like to run to: Rockstar

Gym Class Heros-Upbeat, a bit of rap thrown in there too!

Transplants-Yeah, definitely check them out if you haven't already.

Blink 182-I always enjoy them, and some of their songs would be good.

Weezer- They got some fun upbeat songs

I think that is about it. Let me know if you need any of these :)
